On August 10, 1628, just 18 minutes after its inauguration, the Swedish warship Vasa sank in Stockholm harbor. Discovered in an exceptional state of preservation after 333 years under the waves in 1961, the wreck is today preserved in a museum. Why did this formidable ship sink?
